Natriumklorid

Vanlig bordsalt er NaCl (natriumklorid).
I kroppen finnes Na og NaCl både i blodet, i væsken rundt cellene og inne i cellene.
I kroppsvæskene omtales Na som en elektrolytt.

2. any of a class of chemical compounds formed by neutralization of an acid by a base, a reaction in which hydrogen atoms of the acid are replaced by cations supplied by the base.
